About Mr. Flint

Hello! This is my third year as a fifth grade teacher in the West Central District. I am extremely excited to be a member of the West Central team. I am also looking forward to getting to know each and everyone in the 5D classroom! I should first give you an opportunity to learn a little about me. I grew up in Brandon, SD, and I graduated from Brandon Valley High School. After high school, I went South Dakota State University and then I moved to Dakota State University. I graduated in May, 2013 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.

I was able to gain experience in several different classrooms throughout my college career. The classrooms that I enjoyed being in the most were the classrooms that provided many different ways for the students to learn. The reason these methods have stuck with me is that the students seemed to enjoy being in the classroom. This is why I plan on using a technique that will allow the students to choose how they want to learn a subject. This will ensure that every student will have an opportunity to learn material in a method they are most comfortable.

In my free time, I enjoy working on all sorts of projects, such as: drawing, woodworking, hunting, and spending time with friends and family. I also love sports, especially football. I am the head coach for the 7th grade team this year. I have been a Minnesota Vikings fan since I can remember. While they have had their ups, they have certainly had their fair share of disappointments.

I would like to say again that I am ready and excited about this year. I hope you are as well.
